What is at the airport

No SIM counter. That is the whole of it.

Our source for Aarhus contradicts itself — one line mentions kiosks in the arrivals hall, another states flatly that there is no SIM counter — so we are telling you what we can stand behind: do not plan on buying a SIM at AAR. Glance around arrivals on the day, because small airports change their retail mix and a newsagent may stock starter packs, but treat anything you find as luck rather than a plan.

Free WiFi covers the terminal. That is enough to buy and install an eSIM on the spot, which is the fastest fix if you land unconnected. Taxis, buses and rail links run into Aarhus, where the Danish carriers — TDC/YouSee, Telia, Telenor and 3 — all retail properly.

If you do buy a physical SIM in the city, bring your passport. Denmark requires a passport or national ID to register a prepaid SIM, wherever you buy it.

Most arrivals here need nothing

Denmark is in the European Union, so roam-like-at-home applies: an EU or EEA SIM works on your domestic allowance at domestic prices, with nothing to buy and nothing to install. Aarhus is a regional airport fed mainly by European and Nordic routes, and Norwegian and Icelandic SIMs count too, since both countries are in the EEA. For most people reading this, the correct action is none.

UK travellers are the group to check, because British operators took different positions on EU roaming after Brexit and several reintroduced charges. Arrivals from outside the EEA are the ones who genuinely need to buy something.

If you do need data

Buy before you fly. An eSIM is live when you land, which is worth more at an airport with no counter than at one with three.

The Airalo rows were read from Airalo's own site on 13 August 2026, and Nomad's from its own site on 17 August 2026; Teledansk is Airalo's product name for the Danish package, not a network. Saily's prices were read off Saily's own site on 18 August 2026. An earlier version of this page said Nomad showed 50 GB over 30 days at $29, below Airalo's verified $35. That figure had never been checked and was wrong: Nomad's 50 GB is $45. Where Nomad does undercut Airalo in Denmark is at 20 GB — $20 against $27.50 — and on unlimited, where its seven days at $25 beats Airalo's $27.

Denmark's small plans are poor value and its big one is not: $4 buys a single gigabyte, while $35 buys fifty at $0.70 each. Unless you are here for two days, skip the bottom of the ladder.

Nobody publishes a host network for Denmark. Holafly used to be the exception on this page, on a TDC, Telia and Telenor listing that came from our own data rather than from Holafly — its own pages name no carrier, here or in any country. Airalo, Saily and Nomad publish nothing either, so which Danish network you land on is unknowable in advance.
